Smart Lighting and Intelligent Communications & Control System (SLIC2)

ST Electronics (Info-Comm System)’s Smart Lightingand Intelligent Communications & Control System (SLIC2) provides efficient and cost-effective management of mass lighting on the streets/highways and in premises such as car parks, petrol stations and other industrial and commercial facilities. The SLIC2 family of outdoor mass lighting management solutions is designed to provide real-time access to the operational status of street lights such as power consumption readings and other dynamic lighting parameters, anytime and anywhere. Advances in technologies and smart sensors have changed the way lighting is managed in urban cities and along highways. Governments and maintenance companies have realised that suchtechnologies and sensors help to significantly reduce energy consumption and operating and maintenance costs through the enhanced management of mass street lighting.

The SLIC2 family of solutionsincludes the Monitoring and Control System (MCS), Data Concentration Gateway (DCG) and Smart Control Units (SCU). The SLIC2 MCS is a robust and user-friendly web-based management solution that provides utilities and maintenance companies with remote and central control to monitor lights over wide geographical areas. The advanced scheduling module provides automatic options for switching on/off or dimming groups of lights or individual lights, resulting in considerable reduction in energy costs. It uses a comprehensive Graphical User Interface to continuously provide the key parameters of each light. This enables the generation of useful reports on the aggregate or active energy consumption and other parameters such as ambient light levels, voltage, current, power factor and temperature.
